The University of Houston-Downtown Marilyn Davies College of Business is proud to support students both academically
and financially through a range of exclusive business scholarships. Designed to empower
future business leaders, these scholarships help reduce financial barriers while providing
resources that support academic success, professional development, and career readiness
at one of Houston’s leading business schools.
Marilyn Davies College of Business Scholarships
The UHD Ted Bauer Undergraduate Business Scholarship is a prestigious and competitive
scholarship designed to support outstanding students pursuing business degrees. Each
year, this scholarship awards up to $9,000 per recipient, distributed as $4,500 per
semester for the final two years of undergraduate studies at the Marilyn Davies College
of Business.
To be eligible, applicants must:

To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be entering the final four semesters of their degree program in the Marilyn Davies College of Business.
- Maintain full-time enrollment, taking at least 12 credits per semester.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- File a FAFSA application to demonstrate financial need.

The MDCOB – Cadence Bank Scholarship supports degree-seeking business majors in the Marilyn Davies College of Business, with priority given to students who demonstrate financial need.

About the Scholarship:
The MDCOB – Amy Rich Buck Scholarship is a merit-based award for degree-seeking business majors in MDCOB who work full-time while enrolled at UHD.

Scholarship Award:
- Amount: TBA (set each cycle). Non-renewable.
- Use of funds: May be applied to tuition, books, fees, and/or required supplies for the coming semester; the student covers any costs beyond the award.
- Can be combined with other aid (other scholarships and grants).
Eligibility Requirements:
- Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher.
- Program/Major: Degree-seeking and majoring at MDCOB.
- Enrollment: during the term of the award.
- Employment: Work full-time while attending school.
- Financial Aid File: FAFSA required
- Preference: Undergraduate students preferred (not a hard requirement).
- Scholarship prospect exhibits leadership qualities as determined by the UHD Marilyn Davies College of Business Scholarship Committee.
- Scholarship applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
- Scholarship applicant should be a declared major in the UHD Marilyn Davies College of Business.
- Scholarship applicant must be a certified full-time undergraduate or graduate certificate or degree-seeking student in good standing at the University of Houston-Downtown.
- Scholarship recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA in accordance with the standards set by the UHD Marilyn Davies College of Business Scholarship Committee.
- Scholarship recipient may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with the E. Deane Kanaly Scholarship.
- Funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, and/or supplies for the coming academic semester. Any expenses of a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.
- Scholarship award is nonrenewable.

- Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester credit hours at UHD.
- Applicant must be an IS (Information Systems) major or Minor.
- Applicant must have a minimum 3.00 GPA overall.
- Recipient may accept other scholarships and grants.

- Have a 2.75 GPA or above.
- Have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours at UHD and a maximum of 96 credit hours.
- Be a declared major or intended major in the College of Business.
- The scholarship shall be awarded as two scholarships at $1,000 per year with $500 awarded for the Fall and Spring semesters.

- Must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time (12 SCH or more) in the Marilyn Davies College of Business.
- Majoring in Accounting (or working towards a professional certification in Accounting).
- Demonstrated financial need.
- Scholarship recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.25
- Funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, and/or supplies for the coming academic semester.

- Scholarship applicant should be a declared major in the Marilyn Davies College of Business.
- Scholarship applicant must be a certified full-time undergraduate or graduate certificate or degree-seeking student in good standing at the University of Houston-Downtown.
- Scholarship recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA in accordance with the standards set by the College of Business Scholarship Committee.
- Scholarship recipient may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with the Wells Fargo Scholarship.
- Funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, and/or supplies for the coming academic semester. Any expenses of a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.

- Scholarship applicant must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FASFA accompanying the application.
- Be a declared major in the Marilyn Davies College of Business.
- Applicant must have a minimum 3.00 GPA overall.
- Scholarship applicant must be a certified full-time undergraduate degree-seeking student in good standing at the University of Houston-Downtown Marilyn Davies College of Business.
- Scholarship recipient can receive the award and may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with the Enrique B. Garcia Scholarship.
- Funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, and/or supplies for the coming academic semester. Any expenses of a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.

- Scholarship applicant should be a declared major in the Marilyn Davies College of Business

- Scholarship recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA in accordance with the standards set by the Marilyn Davies College of Business Scholarship Committee.
- Scholarship recipient may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with the Charles Saunders Sr. Memorial Scholarship Committee.
- Funds may be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, and/or supplies for the coming academic semester. Any expenses of a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.

- Scholarship recipient may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with this scholarship up to the cost of attendance, which includes tuition, fees books, room and board, transportation, and personal expenses.
- Scholarship award is based on financial need and academic merit.
- Scholarship award is non-renewable. Applicants must reapply.

- The recipient(s) of the scholarship will be determined by the University of Houston-Downtown Scholarship Selection Committee

- Scholarship recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA or greater in accordance with the standards set by the UHD Marilyn Davies College of Business Scholarship Committee.
- Scholarship recipient may receive the award more than once and may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with the Terri Dunlap Scholarship Award.
- Preference is given to a student seeking a degree in supply chain management (major). If no qualified student is available in this concentration, then the award may be made available to other students in the Marilyn Davies College of Business.
- Funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees and/or supplies for the coming academic semester. Any expenses for a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.

- Scholarship recipient may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with this scholarship up to the cost of attendance, which includes tuition, fees, books, room and board, transportation, and personal expenses
- Scholarship is non-renewable and applicants must reapply

- An undergraduate Accounting Major in the Marilyn Davies College of Business
- Enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester credit hours at UHD for each semester the scholarship is awarded
- GPA of 3.00 or higher at UHD
- Must show financial need
- Must work part-time
- Must be a person of great integrity as supported by a strong reference
- May receive the scholarship more than once and may also accept other scholarships and grants.

- Scholarship applicant must be a certified full-time undergraduate degree-seeking student in good standing at the University of Houston-Downtown.
- Scholarship applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 semester credit hours at UHD.
- Scholarship recipient must have a 3.5 GPA or greater in accordance with the standards set by the UHD Marilyn Davies College of Business Scholarship Committee.
- Scholarship recipient may receive the award more than once and may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with the Dr. Asghar Nazemzadeh Memorial Scholarship.
- Funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, and/or supplies for the coming academic semester. Any expenses of a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.

- Preferred scholarship applicants will be United States military (i.e., active, reserve, or veteran) and in good standing.
- Preferred scholarship applicants will be employed while enrolled, and ideally working full-time.
- Scholarship Applicant must be enrolled in nine (9) or more credit hours for undergraduates or six (6) or more credit hours for graduates and in good standing at the University of Houston-Downtown.
- Scholarship recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.2 for undergraduates or 3.5 for graduates in accordance with the standards set by the College of Business Scholarship Committee.
- Scholarship recipient may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with the Military in Business Scholarship.
- Funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, and/or supplies for the coming academic semester. Any expenses of a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.
- Scholarship award is based on academic merit.
- Scholarship award is non-renewable.

- Majoring in Marketing.

- Applicant should write a brief statement describing how earning a degree will empower them to give back to the community
