The University of Houston-Downtown Marilyn Davies College of Business is proud to support students both academically
and financially through a range of exclusive business scholarships. Designed to empower
future business leaders, these scholarships help reduce financial barriers while providing
resources that support academic success, professional development, and career readiness
at one of Houston’s leading business schools.
Marilyn Davies College of Business Scholarships
The UHD Ted Bauer Undergraduate Business Scholarship is a prestigious and competitive
scholarship designed to support outstanding students pursuing business degrees. Each
year, this scholarship awards up to $9,000 per recipient, distributed as $4,500 per
semester for the final two years of undergraduate studies at the Marilyn Davies College
of Business.
To be eligible, applicants must:

- Be entering the final four semesters of their degree program in the Marilyn Davies College of Business.
- Maintain full-time enrollment, taking at least 12 credits per semester.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- File a FAFSA application to demonstrate financial need.

The MDCOB – Cadence Bank Scholarship supports degree-seeking business majors in the Marilyn Davies College of Business, with priority given to students who demonstrate financial need.

- RMI interest encouraged (not required)
The Enbridge Scholarships support students in the University of Houston–Downtown’s

The MDCOB – Amy Rich Buck Scholarship is a merit-based award for degree-seeking business majors in MDCOB who work full-time while enrolled at UHD.

- Amount: TBA (set each cycle). Non-renewable.
- Use of funds: May be applied to tuition, books, fees, and/or required supplies for the coming semester; the student covers any costs beyond the award.
- Can be combined with other aid (other scholarships and grants).

- Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher.
- Program/Major: Degree-seeking and majoring at MDCOB.
- Enrollment: during the term of the award.
- Employment: Work full-time while attending school.
- Financial Aid File: FAFSA required

The Bobby Bizzell Memorial Scholarship is an endowed award honoring Dr. Bobby Gene Bizzell, the first dean of UHD’s College of Business. It supports students in the College of Business and recognizes either academic achievement or financial need.

The Charles Saunders Sr. Memorial Scholarship in Entrepreneurship is an endowed award in the UHD Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB) that supports students who demonstrate entrepreneurial qualities, as determined by the College of Business Scholarship Committee.

- Program/Major: Declared major in the UHD College of Business.
- Enrollment: Certified full-time; undergraduate or graduate (certificate or degree-seeking) in good standing at UHD.
- GPA: Must maintain GPA per standards set by the College of Business Scholarship Committee (no fixed minimum specified).
- Entrepreneurial Qualities: Demonstrates qualities of an entrepreneur (as judged by the committee).
- Selection: Recipients are chosen by the UHD College of Business Scholarship Selection Committee.
About the Scholarship:
The Deloitte Larry G. Jones Scholarship is a need-based award for full-time undergraduate students who are Accounting majors or working toward a professional certification in Accounting. This scholarship is renewable for students who continue to meet the criteria.

The Donald L. Bonham Memorial Scholarship Endowment supports students in the UHD Marilyn
Davies College of Business (MDCOB) and honors the legacy of entrepreneur Donald L.
Bonham.
Scholarship Award
- Amount: $1,000 per recipient, per year.
- Disbursement: $500 in Fall + $500 in Spring.

- Military affiliation: U.S. military (active duty, reserve, or veteran) in good standing. Veterans should be able to provide DD-214 showing honorable discharge.
- Enrollment & standing: should be studying within the College of Business.
- Have at least nine credit hours (undergrad) or six credit hours (graduate) during the award term.
- GPA: 3.2+ (undergraduates) or 3.5+ (graduates),
