House Bill 2504

In 2009, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 2504 requiring that all institutions of higher learning make the following information concerning undergraduate academic programs available to the public:

• Class syllabus
• Curriculum vitae (C.V.) for each instructor
• Departmental budget if available

The effective date to comply with certain requirements of the bill is August 30, 2010.

To comply with this bill the above information is searchable online.

Please note that UHD is piloting a new public facing syllabus hosting system known as “Simple Syllabus.” The plan is to fully adopt this platform during the Spring 2026 Term.  Thus, during this Fall 2025 transition period, section-level syllabi are publicly posted in one of these systems.  It is our expectation that Simple Syllabus will provide uniformity in layout, thereby promoting accessibility and enhancing communication of course content.
