Everything You Need to Know Before Applying to Our Graduate Programs

Still on the fence about applying?

Whether you're a working professional thinking about going back to school or a recent grad ready to take the next step, we get it — choosing a graduate program is a big decision. To make things easier, we've pulled together answers to the questions we hear most often.

How long does it take to complete the program?

You have options. Full-time students can complete the program in as little as 1 year. If you're balancing work, family, or other commitments, part-time students typically finish in 2 to 3 years. The program is designed to fit your life — not the other way around.

Do I need to submit test scores?

Test scores are optional. We evaluate applicants holistically, though in some cases you may be asked to provide scores as part of the review process. Don't let test anxiety hold you back from applying.

Do I need a business degree to start the MBA program?

No. You do not need an undergraduate degree in business to be admitted to our MBA program. We welcome applicants from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds. Your experience and drive matter just as much as your degree.

How do I apply?

You can submit your application directly through our online portal. Apply here to get started — the process is straightforward and can be completed at your own pace.

How much is the application fee?

  • Domestic students: $35
  • International students: $80

Good news — you may qualify for a fee waiver if you are a UHD alumnus or alumna, or if you attend one of our in-person or virtual recruitment events. Check our upcoming events to take advantage of this opportunity before you apply.

How long does it take to receive an admissions decision?

Once we have received all of your required documents, you can expect to hear back within 2 weeks. Make sure your application is complete to avoid any delays.

How are courses offered?

We offer flexibility in how you learn:

  • Online — complete coursework entirely from home or wherever works best for you
  • In-person — attend class on campus for a more traditional experience
  • Hy-Flex — a hybrid format where some students are in the classroom and others join remotely at the same time

No matter your schedule or location, there's a format that works for you.

When are courses offered?

Classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday from 6:00 PM to 9:50 PM, making it easier for working professionals to pursue their degree without stepping away from their careers.
