Transcripts Electronic Delivery

Official transcript submitted to the UHD Office of Admissions from the degree-conferring institution is required.

UHD prefers the use of TREx/EDI/SPEEDE transcript submission. However, if this option is not available, official paper transcripts are acceptable as long as they are unopened and bearing the seal of the sending institution.

If sending your official transcripts by a third-party service such as eSCRIP-SAFE, JST, National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment/DocuFide, ADDS/AVOW, etc., please use the uhdgradadmissions@uhd.edu email address.

Please Note: PDF transcripts must be sent directly from the issuing company and directly to the uhdgradadmissions@uhd.edu email address to be considered official.

If you attended a college or university outside the United States, your transcripts must be evaluated by a credential evaluation service recognized by UHD prior to applying for admission to the university.

Current UHD Students: Follow this guide to request an official UHD transcript.

Submit official transcripts to:
University of Houston-Downtown
Office of Graduate & International Admissions
One Main Street, Suite GSB 308
Houston, TX 77002

Resume

Your résumé is a summary of your education, work experience, leadership, skills, and accomplishments. It helps the admissions committee learn more about your background and qualifications.

A strong résumé should be clear, organized, and up to date. Highlight your most relevant experiences and accomplishments using concise bullet points.

  • Professional experience with accomplishments and measurable impact.
  • Leadership roles in the workplace, community, or student organizations.
  • Volunteer service or extracurricular involvement.
  • Relevant technical skills, certifications, and professional development.

For résumé tips, examples, and templates, visit the UHD Center for Career & Professional Development Résumé Resources. This resource includes sample resumes, guidance on formatting, writing effective bullet points, and creating a professional résumé.

Personal Statement

Your personal statement is an opportunity to introduce yourself to the admissions committee beyond your résumé and transcripts. It allows you to share your story, explain your motivations, and  demonstrate why you are a strong candidate for graduate study.

  • Indicate the program you are applying for. Clearly state which Marilyn Davies College of Business graduate program you are interested in pursuing.
  • Explain why you chose this program. Describe what interests you in the program and why it is the right fit for your academic, professional, and personal aspirations.
  • Discuss your career goals. Share your short-term and long-term professional objectives and explain how earning this degree will help you achieve them.
  • Highlight relevant experiences. Briefly discuss educational, professional, leadership, volunteer, or life experiences that have prepared you for graduate study and contributed to your decision to pursue this program.
  • Be authentic. The strongest personal statements are genuine, thoughtful, and written in your own voice.
