Your Voice Matters

At the University of Houston-Downtown Police Department, our relationship with the community is built on trust, communication, and shared responsibility. We understand that questions or concerns may arise following interactions with police department personnel. Differences in perception, misunderstandings, or evolving information can sometimes lead to varying accounts of the same incident.

We are committed to listening, engaging in open dialogue, and reviewing concerns in a thorough, respectful, and professional manner. Our effectiveness depends on working together with the students, faculty, staff, and visitors we serve.

Share a Concern

If you have a concern regarding an interaction with a member of the police department, we encourage you to let us know. Your feedback helps us maintain the high standards of service our community expects.

To begin the process:

  • Contact any member of the UHD Police Department for guidance, or
  • Call 713-221-8065 for information about complaint procedures.

All concerns are taken seriously and reviewed carefully.

Recognize a Team Member

Positive interactions matter, too. If police department personnel have made a difference through professionalism, compassion, or exceptional service, we welcome you to share your experience.

Letters or notes to the Chief of Police will be shared with the individual and placed in their personnel file. Recognizing outstanding service strengthens our culture of professionalism and reinforces the partnership we value with our community.
