Request to exclude UHD POLS 2303 or 2304 from UHD GPA Calculation

The political science core-course sequence of POLS 2303 and POLS 2304 is no longer offered at UHD. While the new sequence, POLS 2305 and POLS 2306, is not identical POLS 2303 and POLS 2304, students may petition the College of Humanities and Social Science to exclude the POLS 2303 and/or 2304 semester credit hours and grades from the calculation of their UHD GPA. Sometimes known as “grade repair,” this option honors the spirit of 03A04 §3.2 states: “When a course is repeated, only the highest grade will be used in computing the [UHD] grade point average.”

Students who wish to exclude UHD POLS 2303 and/or POLS 2304 must complete the electronic form below. This petition is only applicable to UHD POLS 2303 & POLS 2304.

The conditions for grade exclusion are as follows:

  1. To exclude a POLS 2303 grade and semester credit hours, a student must take POLS 2305 and POLS 2306 and earn a C or better grade in both courses.
  2. To exclude a POLS 2304 grade and semester credit hours, a student must take POLS 2305 or POLS 2306 and earn a C or better grade.
