To avoid delays in your financial aid, students are strongly encouraged to complete
the 2026–2027 FAFSA by April 22, 2026.
Why This Date Matters
Recent federal changes to the FAFSA layout under the One Big Beautiful Bill have resulted in updates to how applications are processed. Because of these changes, FAFSA applications submitted after April 22, 2026 may experience significant processing delays.
Submitting your FAFSA by the recommended date helps ensure:
- Timely processing of your application
- Accurate and complete financial aid review
- Fewer delays in receiving your financial aid offer
Can I Still Submit After April 22nd?
Yes. FAFSA applications will continue to be accepted after April 22, 2026. However, students who submit after this date should be aware that:
- Processing may take considerably longer
- Financial aid awards may be delayed
- Funding availability could be affected

- Complete your FAFSA as soon as possible
