Continuing Education (CE) provides access to high-quality educational opportunities that help individuals and organizations meet diverse learning needs beyond undergraduate and graduate instruction.
Mission
University of Houston-Downtown Continuing Education is committed to addressing the professional and educational needs of individuals and businesses. We identify and design high quality, innovative non-degree courses and programs that provide students with in-depth study in a specific area of interest, or in a professional field enhancing their career options, knowledge and skills.
The Division of Continuing Education comprises four departments: Applied Business & Technology Center and Criminal Justice Training. In addition to its commitment to improving professional education and enhancing career opportunities, the division responds to the diverse learning needs of local and international businesses through customized training options. Collectively, the departments extend the resources of the University to those eager to learn outside the structure of undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

Division Departments
The Applied Business & Technology Center (ABTC) at UHD offers training for industry specific software and skills at various levels from entry through advanced. The center offers training on-campus, on-site, and online and is dedicated to responding to the needs of business and industry. As an Authorized Autodesk Training Center, the ABTC provides training in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Inventor, and Revit. In addition, the center provides prep classes for SAT, GRE, GMAT, and LSAT exams. The center also offers innovative classes from computer programming to creative writing for grade-school students during the summer.
The Criminal Justice Training Center provides training and educational opportunities outside of the academic curriculum. The center offers a variety of continuing education classes for criminal justice and law enforcement professionals. All continuing education courses are approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
