Advanced Paralegal Certificate - Legal Writing

You can be a better paralegal by being a better legal writer. Learn the craft of legal writing. This Advanced Paralegal Course in Legal Writing will give you more knowledge of, and more practice in:

  1. Writing differently for different audiences;
  2. Writing with clarity and impact;
  3. Writing effective paragraphs, sentences, and words;
  4. Writing letters and emails;
  5. Writing legal memoranda;
  6. Writing case briefs and appellate briefs;
  7. Writing to persuade:
  8. Drafting career documents
  9. Drafting contracts;
  10. Drafting motions; and
  11. Editing yourself and others.

This is a legal writing class. You will learn how to create documents that communicate legal information specific to your reader, whether your reader is a client, your attorney, opposing counsel, a judge, or a clerk. You will be a better writer because you will understand the importance of words, grammar, structure, persuasion, punctuation, and form, in addition to writing differently for different readers. We will discuss the use of AI in the creation of legal documents, but this class is not about how to use AI. This class is about legal writing.
