How To Apply
Students interested in participating in a UHD study abroad program must submit an online application through the Study Abroad Portal also known as Terra Dotta.
NOTE: Students are required to attend a First Step information session before applying for a program. Applications submitted by students who have not fulfilled this requirement will not be considered.
In anticipation of choosing a study abroad program, students should start gathering the information needed to complete the online application:
- Personal information and contact information. Name and contact information for your emergency contact.
- Gator email address and phone number where you can be contacted.
- List of courses/hours you are currently taking. Current cumulative GPA. If you are a transfer student, provide name and GPA from the previous university.
- Passport, which must be valid for at least six months beyond the end of your program.
- Name and contact information for your academic advisor.
Start Your Application in Terra Dotta
- First-time users must create an account.
- Explore program options and review program-specific information. Take note of the courses offered, cost, and eligibility. This applies to faculty-led, exchange, and affiliated provider programs.
- Click the “Apply Now” button available on any program brochure page.
- Take note of application deadlines and complete the list of requirements.
- Upload additional application forms.

- UHD Travel Award Application and Essay.
Applies to exchange and affiliated provider programs only:
- Approved and signed Course Approval Form (required academic form).
- Signed Consortium Agreement Form (required financial aid form).
