*Note: Laptops must be returned the same day within the hours listed above. Late returns will incur penalties as outlined in the Conditions of Participation below.

  • ๐Ÿ’ป Equipment & Software:
    • Each UHD laptop includes:

      • Hardware: Wireless-enabled laptop with charged battery
      • Software Suite:
        • Microsoft Windows
        • Microsoft Office Pro Plus (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
        • Microsoft Visio Pro, Microsoft Project
        • Adobe Acrobat Pro, WinZip, FileZilla
        • LockDown Browser 2 Lab, Zoom
        • Internet Browsers: Edge, Chrome
        • Media Players: Windows Media Player, VLC
        • Antivirus: CrowdStrike

      Reminder: Save your work to OneDrive, a USB drive, or email. Files saved locally may be lost upon return.

  • ๐Ÿ“‹ Laptop Checkout Guidelines:
    • Laptops are for on-campus use only. Do not take them off-campus.
    • Do not leave laptops unattended. You are responsible for the device and accessories.
    • Only UHD students with a valid GatorCard may check out a laptop. One laptop per student.
    • Report issues to the IT Service Desk:

    • UHD and IT are not responsible for lost files or data saved on the laptop.
    • Only UHD laptops should be placed inside kiosk drawers.
    • Do not use the kiosk to charge personal devices.

      The Library Laptop Kiosk is designed exclusively for UHD laptop checkout and return. Placing personal devices inside kiosk drawers may result in the drawer locking or the device being registered as returned. UHD is not liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience caused by misuse of the kiosk.

  • โœ… Conditions of Participation - By using the UHD Laptop Checkout Kiosk, you agree to the following:
    • Comply with UHDโ€™s Computer Access, Security, and Use Policy 08.A.04.
    • Use the laptop only during posted hours and only for personal academic use.
    • Accept full responsibility and financial liability for the laptop and accessories from checkout to return.
    • Pay UHD for loss or damage to the laptop, case, or power adapter:
      • Lost/Stolen Laptop: $1,400
      • Laptop Incidentals: Varies
      • Late Return: $25/day
    • Late returns may result in loss of checkout privileges:
      • 1st Offense: 2-week suspension
      • 2nd Offense: 30-day suspension
      • 3rd Offense: Suspension for remainder of semester
    • A hold may be placed on your student account for unpaid fines, affecting registration, transcripts, or graduation.
    • Save all data to external media or OneDrive. UHD is not responsible for data loss.
    • Report damage, loss, or theft immediately to the IT Service Desk itservicedesk@uhd.eduโ€‹, 713-221-8031.
