mishap sparks a whirlwind of romance and ambition, the stage is set for an evening
full of sharp wit, eccentric characters, and nonstop laughs. Don’t miss this playful
satire and the chance to experience live theatre with us at UHD!
Adapted by Steve Martin from the classic German farce, The Underpants is a fast-paced comedy of embarrassment, ambition, and unexpected celebrity. After
Louise Maske suffers a very public wardrobe mishap during a royal parade, her anxious
husband Theo becomes convinced the incident will destroy his career and their carefully
ordered life. Instead, their spare room suddenly becomes the most sought-after rental
in town, attracting an eccentric parade of admirers with motives that are anything
but innocent.
As Theo eagerly chases the extra income, he unknowingly invites chaos into his home.
Jealousy, deception, misplaced affection, and nonstop misunderstandings collide in
a whirlwind of clever dialogue and perfectly timed comic mayhem. Steve Martin's sharp
adaptation transforms a century-old satire into a fresh, laugh-out-loud farce that
pokes fun at vanity, social conventions, and the absurd lengths people will go in
pursuit of love, status, and opportunity.

She Kills Monsters
April 8 - 17, 2027
Join us at the University of Houston-Downtown’s historic O’Kane Theatre for Qui Nguyen’s
wildly entertaining She Kills Monsters — a hilarious, action-packed, and deeply moving
dramatic comedy that blends high school reality with epic Dungeons & Dragons fantasy.
After the sudden death of her teenage sister Tilly, buttoned-up Agnes Evans discovers
a Dungeons & Dragons module that Tilly secretly created. Determined to understand
the sister she barely knew, Agnes dives into the fantastical realm of New Landia —
a world filled with fire-breathing dragons, deadly beholders, homicidal fairies, ogres,
and epic quests. As she learns to fight alongside a ragtag party of adventurers, Agnes
confronts not only literal monsters but also the very real high school bullies, hidden
identities, and family secrets that defined Tilly’s life.
Blending laugh-out-loud humor, thrilling stage combat, 90s pop culture nostalgia,
and heartfelt emotion, She Kills Monsters is a high-energy adventure about grief,
sisterhood, courage, and embracing your inner hero. Funny, fierce, and full of heart,
this award-winning play celebrates geek culture, found family, and the power of imagination.
