Student Leadership & Involvement (SLI) is the department that helps students get connected, get involved, and grow as leaders at UHD.
We oversee student organizations, leadership programs, Greek Life, Weeks of Welcome, Homecoming and major campus traditions that make your Gator experience unforgettable!

We’re located in One Main Building, Room S204 and N310. These are your go-to spaces for student organization support, event planning help, fraternity and sorority information, and leadership resources.

Start by visiting uhd.edu/sli or logging into CampusGroups, UHD’s student engagement platform. From there, you can browse over 90+ student organizations, upcoming events, and leadership opportunities. You can also stop by our office for one-on-one help finding your fit.

SLI offers a wide range of programs, including Weeks of Welcome, Leadership Workshops & Conferences, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Civic Engagement & Volunteerism, and major campus traditions like Homecoming and Bayou Bash.

CampusGroups is UHD’s official engagement platform — it’s where you can find all student events, join organizations, register for programs/events, and track your co-curricular involvement.

Leadership starts with involvement! You can apply for leadership positions such as Student Organization Officer, Peer Mentor, Student Assistant in SLI, or Student Government Association Representative. Check CampusGroups or stop by S204 for current openings.

Yes! SLI hires Student Desk Assistants, Student Supervisors, and Student Leads who help manage our front desk, assist with events, and support student organizations. Openings are posted on UHD Jobs4Gators and shared on our social media pages.

UHD’s Fraternity & Sorority Life community includes culturally based, service-driven organizations that promote scholarship, leadership, and community engagement. Interested students can learn more by attending Greek Interest Meetings or visiting the Greek Life page on CampusGroups.

Some SLI favorites include Weeks of Welcome (WOW), Homecoming Week, Bayou Bash, One Main Event, Leadership Legends Workshop, Greek Week and Walk2Vote.

Absolutely! Our staff can help you find involvement opportunities that fit your schedule and goals. Leadership isn’t about doing everything; it’s about doing the things that matter most to you.

Faculty and staff can serve as organization advisors, event collaborators, or guest speakers in leadership programs. We welcome partnerships that enhance student engagement and leadership development.
