"Welcome to the University of Houston-Downtown! I am honored to serve UHD as Interim Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. The Provost at a university serves as the chief academic officer in charge of many student-facing parts of the university, such as the colleges, the library, institutional excellence, advising and accreditation, and continuing education programs, to name a few. I’m proud to serve at UHD because of its profound commitment to and special role serving the Houston community and its workforce needs. We aim to create a future for Houston and for Houstonians that is vibrant, thriving, and full of opportunities made real, and to serve as an engine for Houston’s business and public communities. UHD has wonderful students and faculty who contribute to their fields in countless ways, and I invite you to explore the many academic programs that support Houston’s growing workforce needs.

Thank you for taking time to get to know The University of Houston-Downtown. I hope you’ll come and see how UHD can support your life-long education, your business needs, and your community’s aspirational goals."
