A diverse group of Houstonians gathered at UHD's Center for Public Deliberation to discuss the US-Mexico border, sharing their perspectives on potential solutions and fostering a more informed citizenry.
Jazz, Movies, and Family Stories: A Conversation with Terence Blanchard
Slated for 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 8, “A Conversation with Terence Blanchard” is part of the 2024 Fall President’s Lecture Series and will be held in the TDECU Tour Room in the Welcome Center of UHD, 201 Girard. KTSU 90.9 General Manager Ernest Walker will join the two cousins on stage and moderate the conversation. The event is free and open to the public and a complimentary lunch will be provided.

Nearly $300k was raised to support student scholarships.
CST To Host 11th Annual Greater Houston Environmental Summit
The 11th Annual Empower Houston's Future: 2024 Greater Houston Environmental Summit, will take place from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, at the Fondren Commons within the College of Sciences & Technology (CST), and will give attendees the chance to learn actionable solutions, participate in workshops, and network with local and state leaders.

MDCOB Welcomes, Honors Newest Ted Bauer Scholars
On September 20 and 27, the annual Donor Scholarship Luncheon brought together the Ted Bauer Scholarship donors, esteemed donor Marilyn Davies, UHD President Loren J. Blanchard, and leaders from UHD’s Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB) for a single purpose: to recognize and celebrate the outstanding students whose achievements earned them the scholarship.
