UHD Remembers Floyd Newsum: A Tribute
The entire university community is invited and encouraged to attend the special tribute to Professor Floyd Newsum to take place at 4-5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the Wilhelmina Cullen Robertson Auditorium with a reception to follow. UHD Alumni To Be Honored at 50th Anniversary Gala
With more than 67,000 alumni, the University of Houston-Downtown has a lot to be proud of! For its 50th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Hilton Americas-Houston, the university will honor six of those alums with very special awards.

MDCOB Welcomes, Honors Newest Ted Bauer Scholars
On September 20 and 27, the annual Donor Scholarship Luncheon brought together the Ted Bauer Scholarship donors, esteemed donor Marilyn Davies, UHD President Loren J. Blanchard, and leaders from UHD’s Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB) for a single purpose: to recognize and celebrate the outstanding students whose achievements earned them the scholarship.

Bikes, Literacy, and GatorServe
UHD came together on Saturday, Sept. 14, for a “bike build” for National Day of Service in support of improving our children’s literacy. In less than two hours, dedicated Gators built 100 bikes and put together 400 helmets.

Don't Judge a Book by Its Ban
The W.I. Dykes library will display a table of books that have been or are challenged or banned, in an effort to stand with all libraries that are targets of such censorship efforts.
