IT Scholarship 2025

In Memory of...

Lorenzo Morales, Jr.
Lorenzo Morales photo Lorenzo Morales, Jr., a beloved member of the University of Houston–Downtown community, dedicated 24 years of service to our institution. Lorenzo was not only admired for his technical skills and professional contributions but also cherished for his kindness, humility, and the generosity he extended to everyone around him.

Lorenzo embodied the very values our UHD IT Scholarship was created to recognize—dedication, service, creativity, and a passion for making a difference. Whether through his work as a GIS Specialist, his photography business capturing life’s meaningful moments, or his willingness to share his many talents with family, colleagues, and community, Lorenzo lived with purpose and heart.

By honoring him through this scholarship, we celebrate not only his professional excellence but also the warmth, joy, and inspiration he brought to those who knew him. His legacy will continue to guide and uplift future students who, like Lorenzo, seek to use their skills to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Lorenzo’s life was a light to UHD and to Houston, and we are proud to honor him in this lasting way.
