Mission & Focus

Mission
Here at the Impact Learning Office, our mission is to provide access and encourage UHD students to participate in meaningful experiential learning opportunities throughout their higher educational journey. We are committed to connecting students to experiences through partnerships and innovative programming. We connect students with real-world research, career development, community engagement, leadership opportunities, and international exploration that prepare them for success beyond the classroom. By fostering hands-on learning and reflective experiences, we strive to cultivate confident, globally minded graduates who are equipped to make a positive impact in their communities and professions.

Focus

The initial focus of this active and transformative learning initiative at UHD will be on five experiences:

  • Internships
  • Service Learning
  • Study Abroad
  • Undergraduate Research
  • Capstones. 

Work will expand as needed to encompass other high impact practices (HIPs).
