We understand that circumstances come up. In the event that you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, you can cancel your appointment in the Gators4Hire system, and reschedule when you are ready. If you’re unable to cancel your appointment in Gators4Hire, please contact your Professional Development Specialist via email, or call the Main location front desk at 713-221-8980.

Appointment slots are 30-45 minutes depending on the topic, and only cover 1 subject. You are free to schedule back-to-back appointments in Gators4Hire if your Professional Development Specialist has availability.

Every student has a Gators4Hire account created for them upon enrollment at University of Houston-Downtown. You need only activate your account by logging in using the same credentials you use for other technology systems across campus.

It’s never too early in your academic journey to schedule an appointment with us! The earlier we begin working with you, the more career ready you will be at graduation.

Your Gators4Hire account won’t typically be ready to activate until 2 weeks into your first semester at University of Houston-Downtown. Until your account is ready, you are welcome to utilize our drop-in hours for assistance.

If you are participating in a resume, cover letter, or graduate school appointment, we recommend bringing hard copies of those documents with you, or uploading them to the Gators4Hire system prior to your appointment. If you are participating in a mock interview or interview preparation appointment, please send the job title and/or position description to your Specialist at least 1 day prior to your appointment so they can formulate tailored questions for your desired job path.

Drop-in hours are only 10-15 minutes in length, so if you feel that your question can be adequately addressed in this timeframe, you are welcome to see your Specialist during drop-ins.

We suggest following up with the hiring manager of the company you have applied to via telephone or email to inquire about the status of your application.

We encourage you to get your resume approved in our Gators4Hire system where employers can access your public profile, including an approved resume, when they are registered in our Gators4Hire system.

With an approved resume, you can see the internships posted on the job board within Gators4Hire. We also suggest you schedule a job/internship search strategies appointment with your Professional Development Specialist in Gators4Hire.

Yes! We offer career counseling services to UHD alumni at no cost. Request an alumni account in Gators4Hire today!

You can utilize our Gator Shoppe by scheduling a Gator Shoppe appointment in our Gators4Hire system. If you find clothing or accessories that are suitable for your event, you can take them with you – they are now yours to keep! If you do not find items to your liking, feel free to schedule a Dress for Success or Career Gear referral appointment with your Specialist in Gators4Hire.
