Gator Con Volunteer Information

Volunteer at Gator Con 2026!

 

Volunteers play a key role in helping Gator Con run smoothly before and during the event. If you’re interested in supporting a large-scale campus event and being part of the behind-the-scenes experience, we’d love to have you involved.

Who Can Volunteer
Volunteering is open to:
  • Students
  • Faculty & staff
  • Interested community members


Minimum age:
18


Volunteer Commitment
  • Volunteers must commit to at least one 2-hour shift
  • Shifts will take place:
  • The day before the event (most likely between 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
  • The day of the event (most likely between 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
  • Volunteers may indicate availability for multiple shifts
  • Signing up for multiple shifts does not guarantee placement in all requested times or areas

Shift assignments will be made by staff based on overall event needs, availability, and preferences submitted on the form.


Volunteer Roles

Volunteers may be assigned to a variety of event support areas, including but not limited to:

  • Event check-in and registration
  • Guest flow, directions, and line management
  • Room or activity area support (panels, gaming, etc.)
  • Vendor or guest assistance
  • Event setup and breakdown

*Specific roles are not guaranteed and will be finalized closer to the event.


Training & Communication
  • A recommended volunteer orientation/training will be offered prior to the event
  • Completing the volunteer interest form will add you to the Gator Con volunteer email list
  • All key information, including assignments, training details, and expectations, will be shared via email and in a volunteer handbook that will be provided closer to the event

Benefits of Volunteering
  • Service hours
  • Potential volunteer swag or T-shirt
  • Hands-on experience supporting a large-scale campus event

Day-Of Expectations

Additional details such as:

  • Volunteer check-in procedures
  • Required attire (e.g., closed-toe shoes, volunteer shirt)

Will be outlined in the volunteer handbook and event emails.
