The University of Houston-Downtown is hosting the 79th Commencement Ceremony honoring UHD undergraduate and graduate students on Friday, December 12, 2025, at NRG Arena.
First Ceremony 12 p.m. (10:30am Faculty Arrival Time)
Colleges Represented:
- College of Public Service
- Marilyn Davies College of Business
Second Ceremony 4:30 p.m. (3:00pm Faculty Arrival Time)
Colleges Represented:
- College of Sciences and Technology
- College of Humanities and Social Sciences
Faculty process together in two lines into the arena and take their seats in the faculty designated seating. You will be led in this procession. Your role is to serve as an attendee.
Where do I park?
Parking passes are delivered to Department Offices from Wednesday, December 3 through
Friday, December 5. If you requested a parking pass during the sign-up process, you
may pick up your pass from the designated person in your department.
Faculty will park in the Maroon lot at the NRG complex, and will enter the complex through Entrance #10 off Kirby (see map)

Faculty Entrance
Use the Maroon Entrance from the Maroon Lot which will have signage marked for UHD
staff and faculty. UHD staff will greet you and direct you to the reception. Go upstairs
to the Robing Room where you will sign in with staff volunteers.
Where can I pick up my regalia?
Faculty who requested to borrow regalia during the sign-up process can pick up that
regalia in the Robing Room at Commencement. You will return your borrowed regalia
immediately after the ceremony, also in the Robing Room.
Can I bring a bag to the ceremony?
Backpacks and large bags that exceed 11”x17” are not allowed. Items not allowed past
security will require to return them to their cars, or they will not be allowed into
