Michael Moody Fitness Scholarship
Award Amount to $1,500 - Deadline is August 1st, 2026

Only the first 1,000 scholarship applications will be considered. If the program reaches 1,000 scholarship applications before the deadline of August 1, 2026, the program will automatically close. Your scholarship application MUST be one of the first 1,000 submitted electronically.

Requirements

  • Be a United States citizen or legal resident living or claiming residency in one of the 50 states, Washington, D.C., or Puerto Rico.
  • Be a current high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who plans to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement, participation, and leadership in school activities and work experience.
  • Demonstrate interest in pursuing a career and enrolled in the following majors: Athletic Training, Health Policy, Psychology, Biology, Kinesiology, Nursing, General Medicine, Dentistry, Behavioral Sciences, Personal Training, Physical Education Teaching and Coaching, Health and Physical Fitness, Exercise Science, Sports and Recreation Management, Health Sciences, Physical Therapist, or another health-related major.

Requirements

  • Should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good overall academic standing.
  • Must be a legal resident of the United States, residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia.
  • Must be enrolled in a vocational program or two to five year post-secondary institution./li>
  • Must provide an essay of 500-1,000 words on or before the deadline of August 31st, 2025

 

Striders Scholarship
Award Amount to $1,000 per year (for 2 years) – Deadline is July 15
Houston Striders Application

Requirements

  • Must attend an HISD high school or be the child of a Houston Striders member.
  • Will be attending a Texas university/college/higher education program or trade school
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Additional requirements listed on the application
