Dr. Lyons is a tenured faculty of Biology at UHD with both Master of Science (M.S.) and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology with a focus on fungal pathogens. He has 20 years of teaching experience teaching fungal biology, general biology and cell and molecular biology. Dr. Lyons has a current research program in fungal ecology and biology.  Students working on research projects in fungal ecology research program will be signed up for either BIOL 3300 or MBIO 3300 depending on their major. He has 11 published research articles, 5 Review publications, 32 Poster Presentations (many with undergraduate research students), and was the PI on $478K in research and education grants since 1993.
