Over the years the Cultural Enrichment Center has sponsored campus visits by a number of prominent writers, among them Junot Diaz, Paul Muldoon, Ellen Bryant Voigt, Bernadette Mayer, and Martha Serpas. Distinguished guest lecturers in the social sciences and humanities have included Duke University Professor Emeritus Anne Firor Scott, writer and critic David Levi-Strauss, Dr. Mary-Ann Milford, Carver Professor of Far Eastern Studies and Provost at Mills College, and Dr. Melba Joyce Boyd, director of Africana Studies at Wayne State University. International artists and musicians who have presented their work include Senegalese griot ElHajji Papa Susso, and photographers Paula Luttringer (Argentina) and Otobong Nkanga (Nigeria).

The Center supports initiatives by faculty, staff, and students to develop campus programs that enrich the cultural and intellectual life of our academic community.
