Organization Description
The Mayor’s Anti-Gang Office assists youth, young adults, families and communities
in the prevention of gang involvement and juvenile delinquency. Through partnership
with service organizations, law enforcement and criminal justice agencies, schools,
and the general public.
Description of Internship
The Gulfton Mentoring Initiative mentors at risk middle school children in the Gulfton
area ages 10-17. The intern would be responsible for meeting their mentee at least
4 hours a month. The Mentor would receive training from the program.
Criteria for Interns
The mentor must be at least 21 years of age. No other special skills or training is
required, just the passion to work with young people. The mentor must be able to pass
a criminal background check and an initial interview with the program manager. The
program is open to all majors.
