Accessible Education Center - Student FAQs
Accessible Education Center
The Accessible Education Center (AEC) will determine whether a student is eligible for academic accommodations. Faculty will be notified about a student’s eligibility to receive academic accommodations in the form of an official ADA/504 Accommodation Letter, which is emailed directly to faculty from the AEC.
What is the process to register with the AEC?
A student begins the process by submitting documentation of the disability to the AEC. AEC will contact the student for an intake interview to discuss reasonable academic accommodations. The AEC will present the accommodations to the Academic Adjustment Evaluation Committee (AAEC) for final approval.
What type of accomodations am I eligible to receive?
Accomodations are determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the disability, functional limitations, and academic needs.

I received accomodations in high school. Will it be the same in college?
The laws governing mandated accomodations in college are different from K-12. In some cases, the accomodations may be the same, but others may not be reasonable at the college level. For more information about the differences between K-12 and college accomodations, visit the High School vs. College section of our website.
Does the Accessible Education Center provide financial assistance?
No. You will need to contact the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid.
Are my accomodations automatically renewed each semester?
No. Students requesting accomodations must submit a Semester Accomodation Request form each semester for review and renewal.
