Job Summary

The Enrollment Counselor II assists with developing and implementing strategies that address, maintain, and improve admission rates and increase enrollment numbers at the university.

Duties

  • Manages the Admissions department email account, responding promptly to emails daily, and processing student documentation that is received
  • Processes admissions application documents, reviewing for completeness, and maintaining records appropriately; uses relevant software to analyze application information and check for errors
  • Conducts UHD Welcome Center presentations and school visits to assist students with the UHD enrollment process and to increase enrollment numbers
  • Provides PeopleSoft Campus Solutions implementation suggestions and guidance specific to the Admissions modules
  • Represents the university at college and career fairs, conventions, and other events

  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related job experience

License/Certification:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the enrollment policies and procedures at the university, and of the related trends, issues, and accepted practices; knowledge of student counseling; knowledge of student recruitment practices and techniques.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; good customer service skills; good presentation skills.

Abilities:

  • Ability to build a rapport with prospective students; ability to type 60wpm; ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.

Work Location and Physical Demands

Primary Work Location:

  • Works in an office environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a typical, comfortable interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements
  • Individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks.
  • May have occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions and/or extreme temperatures.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30lbs may be required.
