Dear UHD Faculty,
We are pleased to announce that the University of Houston-Downtown will host the 79th Commencement Ceremony on Friday, December 12, at NRG Arena. The event honors the accomplishments of UHD’s Summer and Fall 2025 graduates and will be celebrated in two ceremonies, split by academic colleges as follows:
Noon Ceremony
College of Public Service ~ Marilyn Davies College of Business
4:30 p.m. Ceremony
College of Sciences and Technology ~ College of Humanities and Social Sciences
Sign Up to Attend Commencement
We ask that all faculty complete the sign-up form to let us know you plan to attend. Please complete the faculty sign-up form by noon on November 21 for borrowing regalia or requesting parking passes. The form will remain open through the day of commencement as we will also use it to check faculty in at NRG Arena. Sign-ups received after November 21 will not be eligible for borrowing regalia or securing a parking pass. If you have questions about the form, please contact Emily Leffler (lefflere@uhd.edu).
This form is for those who are participating in commencement in a faculty role (faculty attendee, marshals, banner carriers). Platform party members (deans) and faculty who are administrators assisting with commencement logistics do not need to complete this form. Platform party members will receive parking passes and regalia information from Dr. Liza Alonzo. Faculty who are serving in an administrative role at commencement will complete the staff volunteer form and receive further communication from Shannon Cunningham.
This is an exciting time for our students and their loved ones to celebrate a milestone they will look back on fondly as they depart UHD to embark upon their future endeavors.
