Shortly after he stepped into the role as Chief of Police at UHD, Clemente Rodriguez made it clear that one of his goals was to tap into his extensive relationships with local law enforcement leadership so as to make campus a safer place to study, work, and socialize for the UHD community. Such collaboration is critical, as our downtown campus overlaps and intertwines with the jurisdictions of many local agencies, including METRO Police Department.

To wit, Chief Rodriguez recently appeared in a safety awareness campaign alongside METRO Police Chief Ban Tien and UHPD Chief Ceaser Moore to launch a joint public safety awareness campaign. This collaborative effort promotes shared responsibility to improve safety and security for students, faculty, and staff commuting along METRO transit lines and navigating the campuses using public transit.
