Get your tastebuds ready for the 2026 UHD Annual Chili Cook-Off! A beloved UHD tradition for more than a decade, this signature family-friendly event brings together faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners for an afternoon filled with delicious chili, great music, adult beverages (ages 21+), and spirited competition. There’s truly something for everyone—even the chili ranges from spicy to mild! There’s still time to sign up your chili team, so gather your best recipes and join the fun. UHD Sustainability will also be onsite to help promote recycling and eco-friendly practices, ensuring we enjoy great chili while caring for our campus and community.
Join us from 4–7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10, on UHD’s South Deck, where attendees can enjoy not only some of the best chili around but also a lively festival atmosphere featuring a DJ, face painting, a photo booth, carnival games, video games, vendor booths from local businesses, and a special appearance by our mascot, Ed-U-Gator. The first 100 registered attendees will receive an exclusive UHD Chili Cook-Off swag item at the Hospitality Tent check-in.
Tickets are just $20 per person and include a sample from each participating team and one beverage. Children 12 and younger attend free. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.uhd.edu/chili.
Guests may receive a $5 discount by donating a basic needs item and using the discount code UHDGIVES at checkout. Those who forget their donated item on the day of the event will be required to pay the outstanding $5 at the Hospitality Tent. Qualifying items include laundry detergent, dryer sheets, trash bags, multi-surface cleaner, disinfectant wipes, paper towels, dish soap, sponges, and other common cleaning supplies. Personal hygiene items such as deodorant, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and toilet paper are also welcome.
Proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off directly support UHD students through scholarships and basic needs assistance, helping ensure they have the resources necessary to thrive both academically and personally. Your participation not only fuels a fun and flavorful event but also strengthens the success of our Gator community.
