On Wednesday, Feb. 25, more than 280 UHD faculty, staff, and students gathered for the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Pep Rally in the mural area and A300, where faculty and staff educatated attendees on UHD's 2026 QEP, "Beyond the Bayou: Transferable Skills for the 21st Century." The student success initiative will launch this year and offer students micro-credentials in four areas: Professionalism, Decision-Making, Communication, and Technology. These courses are free, self-paced, and delivered online through Canvas.
During last week's events, Gators learned about some of the course content while tapping into their competitive spirit with a QEP-themed version of "the floor is lava," along with other games. Attendees also showed their artistic talents at a chalk drawing station.
As for entertainment, the UHD Gatorettes performed a special dance to Luke Bryan's "That's My Kind Of Night," and the Cheerleading team performed an original QEP cheer. From interactive games, giveaways, and insightful discussions about microcredentials, the QEP Pep Rally was an event to remember.
