Clarity and accuracy in communication, whether in one's personal life or professional career, are essential. To ensure our students graduate with these abilities, UHD will offer a micro-credential (MC) in Communication.
This MC is one piece of UHD’s 2026 Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), “Beyond the Bayou: Transferable Skills for the 21st Century,” and, along with the other transferable skills—Technology, Decision-Making, and Professionalism—the program will prepare Gator graduates to succeed in today’s workforce. Students can earn a digital badge for each, a few, or all of the skills by completing an online, self-paced course, to be made available through Canvas in 2026.
To encourage participation in and enhance knowledge of the QEP, University Relations invites all students, faculty, and staff to join the campus scavenger hunt during Welcome Week.
To participate, visit all three locations on campus—The Dateline, UHD iRadio, and the UHD Writing Center—and scan the QR code at each stop. Participants must complete the brief prompt or question associated with each QR code to be eligible. Participants who complete all three QR code activities are automatically entered into a raffle to win UHD gear valued at $50.
The scavenger hunt runs Monday–Friday, Jan. 12-16, with in-person activation and a University Relations table available from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday-Tuesday, January 12–13, in the Mural Area of OMB.
Participants may visit the University Relations table during these hours to receive a QEP-themed participation item, though visiting the table is not required to be entered into the raffle.
Good luck, Gators!
