There’s a new UHD event to showcase our best and brightest students, and it’s right around the corner—just in time for Homecoming Week 2025!
Created by the Office of the Dean of Students, the Bayou’s Best Showcase is a competition featuring nominated students who demonstrate the highest achievements in academics, campus involvement, and more! It’s slated for 7:30-10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Wilhelmina Cullen Roberston Auditorium.
A pageant-style event, the Bayou’s Best Showcase spotlights three key areas: School Pride, Career Goals, and Community Impact, providing a unique platform for students to highlight their academic achievements, leadership, school spirit, and dedication to community service. It also offers an exceptional chance for students to gain visibility, connect with peers and university leaders, and earn recognition for their efforts.
The winners of the competition will serve as members of Bayou’s Best, one of UHD's premier student leader and ambassador programs, and will participate in events ranging from award presentations to parades. They will also be potential candidates for the UHD Student Regents and THECB Student Representative positions.
