Panelist Bios

John Hernandez, senior vice president of amegy bank, smiles while wearing a suit

John Hernandez is a seasoned financial executive with more than 35 years of experience in business development, strategic leadership, and community investment. As Senior Vice President at Amegy Bank, he leads business and community development strategies to expand the Galleria Group Commercial Lending portfolio. He is the founding chair of Amegy’s Hispanic Business Resource Group and serves on the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Committee, Corporate Political Action Committee, and Everyone Counts Council, where he helps shape policies that drive long-term impact.

Earlier in his career, Hernandez held leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase Bank (formerly Texas Commerce Bank), where he advanced SBA lending initiatives and managed one of the first local banks to serve Houston’s historic Fifth Ward and Denver Harbor communities.

A proud graduate of the University of Houston-Downtown with a B.B.A., Hernandez now gives back to his alma mater as a member of the UHD President’s Leadership Council. Throughout his career, he has dedicated himself to expanding financial access and fostering economic growth across diverse communities.

Andrea Shiloh, board member for the Premier America Foundation, smiles

Andrea Shiloh is an accomplished financial services and community development leader with more than two decades of experience in banking, treasury, and civic engagement. She served as Senior Vice President of Treasury and Liquidity Services at Texas Capital Bank and previously held leadership roles at Wells Fargo, Regions Bank, and Prosperity Bank and was President of the Houston Women’s Finance Exchange.

Beyond her banking career, Shiloh has been a strong advocate for civic service and community partnerships. She most recently served as Vice President of Volunteerism and Civic Service at Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston and as Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships and Governmental Relations for the East Harris County Empowerment Council. She currently serves as a board member for the Premier America Foundation and contributes to the Credit Oversight and Finance Committees of Premier America Credit Union.
