This year the UHD Police Department and Staff Council are sponsoring UHD’s Holiday Toy Drive from now until Dec. 11 in support of Betsy Ross and Ketelson Elementary schools and Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men.

In appreciation for contributions of a new toy or toys, UHD’s Parking and Transportation Services is offering students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to settle a parking ticket through their donation (minimum $25 value). Only one citation dismissal may be awarded. Ticket dismissal applies only to unpaid UHD parking tickets issued for parking without a permit, unauthorized parking, or permit not properly displayed. Please present the donated toy and receipt to the Parking Department, located in Suite N117, to receive credit for the unpaid ticket.

Other drop-off locations (not ticket-dismissal eligible) include the UHD Police Department (N118), UHD IT (700, Academic Building), fifth floor of W.I. Dykes Library, and Human Resources, S910.

Suggested toys include new, non-violent, unwrapped toys, such as board games, infant toys, baby dolls, Barbies/Barbie cars/Barbie houses, Disney princess items, Paw Patrol toys, coloring books, footballs/basketballs/soccer balls/volleyballs for boys and girls, NERF products, action figures, LEGO, etc.
