It’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s important to know that UHD cares about the physical and mental health of its students, faculty, and staff.
Student Counseling Services is here to offer support as students navigate their college journeys, and employees may reach out to AllOne Health at 1-888-993-7650 or visit www.allonehealth.com/deeroaks.
There are even Zen Dens on campus, located at WSC 116 and OMB S601! They provide quiet spaces to relax and decompress in serene surroundings. Staff at the Wellness & Success Center and Counseling Services can assist with entrance to the spaces.
The Office of Counseling Services is designed to help students maximize their mental health and effectiveness at home, school, and work. Students receive confidential, personal support for a wide range of issues, from everyday concerns to serious problems.
Whether it is advice about a relationship, the need to talk to someone about drug use, or simply feeling overwhelmed by school life, UHD counselors can help. Students can contact Counseling Services online and can also receive crisis support over the phone or schedule an appointment.
All UHD students, including those attending classes solely online, in the evenings or on weekends, or at any UHD location are welcome to visit gatorhealth.uhd.edu, call 713-221-8121, or email UHDCounseling@uhd.edu. Students may schedule a recurring one-hour session conducted in person, by phone, or by video conference, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All records, including medical information, referrals and evaluations, are kept confidential in accordance with federal and state laws.
