No Pain. No Gain. How many times have you heard that expression?

Starting in the next couple of weeks, Gators might have to find a few new pathways due to the second phase of Gator Expansion. But the extra steps will be well worth it as enticing, new spaces are created in the Girard Street Building for future Gator enjoyment.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • The Office of Admissions, Veteran Services, and the Accessible Education Center have already moved to the Jones Student Life Center. The O’Kane Gallery has moved to the Willow Street Pump Station, 811 N. San Jacinto Street.
  • On Aug. 8, the Girard Street Building will close and will not be accessible for the next year during construction of the fourth floor addition.
  • On Aug. 8, the Office of Testing Services (currently on the third floor of the Girard Street Building) and the Academic Support Center (currently on the ninth floor of One Main Building (OMB)) will both move into new, contemporary spaces on the fifth floor of OMB. At the same time, the fifth floor will become accessible via Elevator 11 (garage elevator).
  • On Aug. 22 and 23, barriers will be installed on Girard Street.
  • On Aug. 22, Entrance 1 will close, and a tunnel to Entrance 2 will be added. The faculty parking spaces numbered 379-391 on P3 of the Girard Street Building Parking Lot will no longer be available.
