Each student at UHD has at least two families: their Gator family here on campus, and the folks they love the most, those people who supported them on their journey to downtown. The College of Sciences & Technology (CST) recognizes the importance of bringing those two families together, and so will yet again host its annual CST Family Night event at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27 in room A300 of the One Main Building. The event, exclusively for first-time-in-college CST majors and their families, is a testament to UHD's commitment to building a supportive, family atmosphere on campus, as students' success is inextricably linked with the amount of care and support they receive.
Attendees will hear welcoming speeches, enjoy food, and have the chance to meet with CST faculty and alumni. This is an invaluable opportunity for families to gain a better understanding of the academic processes their students will undertake, empowering them to provide informed support. For new students, the event offers a chance to meet others and anticipate potential academic or personal hurdles they may face, helping them feel more prepared and connected.
CST Family Night is more than just a welcome—it’s a way to bring students' two worlds together, creating a foundation for shared understanding and success.
