US News & World Report recently released its 2025 Best Colleges rankings, and UHD continues to rise in the rankings!
“As a Comprehensive Regional University, the University of Houston-Downtown serves a high percentage of first-generation and economically disadvantaged students,” said UHD President Blanchard during his State of the University address. “Our impact on social mobility is not only an investment in our students, but also an investment in their families and their communities, and consequently, it has a direct positive impact on our city.”
“News & World Report 2025 Best Colleges rankings reflect a 9-point increase in our impact on social mobility. We are now No. 27 in our region.”
And there is more good news: there’s more—
- UHD now ranks No. 58 for Regional Universities West, up from No. 62 last year.
- The university is now No. 30 in Top Public Schools-Regional Universities (West) (tied), up by one point as compared to last year’s list.
- UHD ranks No. 30 in Best Colleges for Veterans (tie).
Rankings, by far, are not the only measure of continuous improvement for a university, but these increases do show that UHD is being recognized nationally for the excellence that all Gators know so well.
