Job Summary

The Manager, Annual Giving works to build the habit of charitable giving in the key audiences of alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends of the University, to raise support to fund and improve the university.

Duties

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive plan to solicit a wide range of donors, including alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the university, for annual gifts to support UHD, using a variety of methods, including, but not limited to, direct mail, email, text to give, and phone
  • Prepares and disseminates information and solicitations to raise financial support for the University from donors and potential donors, including thank you letters, news features on scholarship recipients, and informational websites
  • Gages and uses the most appropriate communication channels for disseminating information, including, but not limited to, direct mail, email, and social media
  • Maintains and coordinates updates and upgrades to the university's philanthropic systems, such as online giving pages and "text to donate" platforms, to enable ease of giving for donors and to allow the smoothest integration with the alumni and donor database
  • Responds to alumni and donor queries, resolving any issues that arise
  • Provides in-person outreach within the university's faculty, staff, and current student communities, to coordinate fundraising volunteers and to directly solicit donations
  • Compiles, tabulates, and calculates statistics on fundraising returns and performance, to develop the best overall plan using multiple channels in complementary ways, to raise more funds, engage more donors, and grow annual giving at UHD
  • Engages and actively involves UH main campus staff in planning and delivering necessary services for UHD Projects

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Social Science, Marketing, Communications, or a related field

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related job experience

License/Certification:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of marketing principles and market segmentation;
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of annual giving campaigns
