Job Summary
The Director of Payroll and Talent Acquisition provides strategic and operational leadership in the areas of payroll, records management and talent acquisition to ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements. This role manages and develops goals, objectives and priorities to ensure efficient compliant and service-oriented HR operations that support the university's mission and workforce needs.
Duties
- Oversees all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of employee compensation.
- Directs the university's talent acquisition strategies, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of employee records, including electronic personnel files and document retention schedules.
- Collaborates with university leadership on workforce planning and position management to support institutional goals.
- Develops, maintains, and enforces HR policies and procedures in alignment with legal and ethical standards. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and university regulations related to payroll, employment and immigration.
- Serves as the primary liaison to the UHS Payroll Office for payroll and employment matters.
- Oversees employment activities for foreign nationals, including labor certification process, I-9 compliance and audit readiness.

Qualifications
Required Education:
- Baccalaureate degree
Required Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of human resources experience
License/Certification:
- None
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
