Undergraduate Students

All undergraduate students seeking admission to the University of Houston-Downtown must apply online via the Apply Texas application, visit applytexas.org

ApplyTexas is the application portal used by all Texas public universities. You will need to create a profile on ApplyTexas and then select the University of Houston-Downtown as your school of choice when applying. The entire application can be completed online and your progress will be saved as you progress through the application.
 
In addition to the ApplyTexas application, you will need to submit other documents depending on your student type.
 

Admission applications are valid for one application cycle which includes the spring, summer and fall terms. The application opens on September 1 of each year for the following spring summer and fall terms.

Graduate Students

GRADUATE Applicants Must:

  • Apply online using the UHD online graduate ​application.
    View the step-by-step instructions guide on creating an account first.​
  • Submit their admissions application fee ($35 for a domestic applicant and $80 for an international applicant).​
    • Current UHD degree-seeking students and alumni qualify for a graduate application fee waiver, as long as an application fee has not already been submitted. Once an application fee has been submitted it is non-refundable and good for one calendar year. Current UHD students and alumni can contact the Office of Graduate Admissions at gradadmissions@uhd.edu for more information prior to submitting their graduate application online.​​
  • Submit official transcript(s)​ from institution(s) where their bachelor’s degree(s) or equivalent was awarded. If applicants attended a college or university outside the United States, their transcript(s) must be evaluated by a credential evaluation service recognized by UHD​ prior to applying for admissions to the university.
    • Current UHD degree-seeking students and alumni may request their current and/or final official transcript through the Office of Graduate Admissions at gradadmissions@uhd.edu​ for purposes of completing their graduate application file for initial review, as well as to render admission decision through the program to which the student has applied.
  • ​Additional supporting documents are required for each specific program; applicants should visit the program website for program requirements and other information. Programs that require reference forms or letters of recommendation should have their recommenders submit directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions at gradadmissions@uhd.edu.
