Scope of Responsibilities

At UHD, Dr. Marzilli oversees both academic and support areas within University College. These include University Honors, the BS in Interdisciplinary Studies, the BAAS in Applied Administration, the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE), The Academic Support Center, the Gator Success Center, the Academic Advising Center and the University College Advising Center. He builds relationships with all academic units to support UHD’s Vision and Mission of helping its diverse student population find both personal and professional success and supports students by reducing barriers to academic support. Dr. Marzilli also is responsible for the University College’s four grant-funded programs: TRiO Talent Search and Upward Bound programs, GTF Scholars program and the United for College Success program.

Educational Qualifications

Dr. Marzilli earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Movement Science from Florida State University, Master of Science in Kinesiology and Bachelor of Physical Education from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Professional Experience

With 21 years of experience at three universities, Dr. Marzilli has worked as an assistant professor, faculty senate president, department chair, dean, assistant vice president, and dean. Over the past 8-years has worked to ensure equal opportunities exist for all students to succeed both personally and professionally. ​
