Portfolio Assignment Examples

Here are some examples of the assignments you can use to meet the requirements of the portfolio:

  • LO1: an assignment that asks you to create a written document that is then turned into a video or presentation. OR two assignments (one that asks for a written document, and a second that asks for a podcast/video/social media posts/etc.)
  • LO2: an assignment that asks you to create a document for a real-world client (e.g., one from a service-learning course where you are working with an outside client)
  • LO3: an assignment that asks you to write for multiple audiences or for specific groups (e.g., one where you are writing for two or more audiences, or one where you are writing for a specific minority group)
  • LO4: an assignment that asks you to conduct research (e.g., research paper where you cite multiple peer-reviewed sources or where you survey/interview individuals)
  • LO5: an assignment that asks you to appropriately cite outside sources, such as peer-reviewed sources and visuals (e.g., a research paper where you ethically use and cite outside sources and outside visuals)
  • LO6: an assignment that asks you to practice good writing principles (e.g., where your writing is grammatically-correct, is appropriate for your audience’s needs and the context, and shows clear purpose)
