VITA service available Feb 7th-April 14, 2026 For Tax Year 2025
Closed March 10-14, 2026 for Spring Break
The IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offer free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals. VITA sites offer free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including (not limited to):
- People who generally make $67,000 or less
- Persons with disabilities; and
- Limited English-speaking taxpayers
- College students
- International students and individuals
- Seniors 65 and older (no income limit)
- Non-residents

UHD VITA provides free In-Person and Virtual tax preparation services:
Service Dates: February 7, 2025 through April 14th. Closed March 10-14 for Spring Break.
In-person service (walk-ins welcome, no appointment required):
- Tuesday – Friday – 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Shea Street Building – 320 N. Main, Room B226, 2nd floor - Saturday 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.
One Main Building, Room number N412/N414 (library – 4th floor). The MetroRail entrance is on the 3rd floor. Take the elevator one floor up to the 4th floor. We are located in the library.
Virtual Service (by appointment):
- Tuesday to Friday 9:00 A.M. – 1 P.M.
- Saturday 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.

- W-2, W-2G, 1099-G, 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC or Income transcripts from IRS, if applicable you received, etc.
- Form 1098-T and Student Fee Bills
- Form 1099-INT, Form 1099-DIV, (Interest and dividend statements)
- Total paid for daycare provider and provider's EIN
- Form SSA-1099 for Social Security Income
- Social Security cards for you, your spouse and dependents, or
- ITIN assignment letter
- Documentation of any donations made to U.S. charities
- Form 1098 for property taxes paid on your home or personal property (vehicles) documentation
- Form 1095-A Marketplace Health Insurance
- Health Savings Account Statement (HSA)
- Bank routing and account numbers for direct deposit
- Married-filing-jointly: both spouses' presence to sign the required e-filing forms
- Form 13614-C Intake/Interview and Quality Review Sheet - IRS completed
Non-Resident Aliens:
- Passport
- Form I-94, Arrival and Departure Record
- Photo ID for all taxpayers to be included on your tax return
- Foreign status proof, if applying for an ITIN
- Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return
- W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC from all employers
- 1042-S, Foreign Person's U.S. Source Income Subject to Withholding
- Nonresident Alien Intake and Interview Sheet
