Job Summary

The Technology Trainer III provides comprehensive technology training, including design, development, and delivery, on all technology products provided by the university to staff, faculty, and students.

Duties

  • Conducts technology systems training for employees
  • Determines the courses needed and appropriate content and methods of delivery
  • Coordinates processes and workflows associated with project-based training programs
  • Designs and develops training materials, documentation, and computer-based programs as required
  • Develops and publishes a training schedule
  • Coordinates training with outside vendors as necessary
  • Develops online training courses and materials and conducts technology systems training for employees
  • Coordinates the planning and implementation for all technology learning service projects

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) year of technology training experience

License/Certification:

  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, or a related field is preferred;
  • Project Manager and course management system training experience in a higher education environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, and the related trends, issues, and accepted practices

Skills:

  • Good technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office and an LMS;
  • Strong presentation and training skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Abilities:

  • Ability to get and maintain certifications in the relevant technologies;
  • Ability to create reports and presentations;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community

Work Location and Physical Demands

Primary Work Location:

  • Works in an office environment

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements;
  • Individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks
  • Must have precise hand-eye coordination, good spatial awareness, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Occasionally drives or operates university vehicles
