Job Summary
The Manager of Financial Affairs manages the daily financial, human resources, and administrative operations of the Office of Academic Affairs; and serves as the operational liaison for the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. Exercise independent judgment and discretion as well as the utilization of advanced technical and administrative skills.
Duties
- Manages the daily operations for Academic and Student Affairs, primarily in financial, human resources, personnel, and procedures.
- Oversees, reviews, and approves various budgets for operational, general appropriations, scholarships, endowments, and other funds—monitors and issues projection reports for internal and external purposes and expenditure documents for the Division.
- Assists leadership in the development and implementation of organizational decisions, which may include developing and writing policies, procedures, business processes and updating the administrative website, and generating customized reports
- Participates in the development and preparation of the annual university budget and monitoring budget to actuals throughout the year to ensure that expenditures are within authorized budgets
- Provides expertise to division personnel related to university policies, procedures, and training staff as appropriate; serves as the liaison for financial and administrative matters to internal units and external vendors.
- Oversees the monthly verifications of cost centers for provost units and ensures department reconciliations are complete to include research grant administration
- Works with university constituents in the areas of human resources, budget, accounting, institutional research, sponsored research, and advancement
- Serves on a variety of committees within the division as well as university-wide

Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree required but may substituted with years of experience
Required Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of related job experience
License/Certification:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position
- Knowledge of higher education accounting practices, and an understanding of Research Administration and Compliance, as it pertains to higher education
- Advanced knowledge in Peoplesoft HR/Finance
Skills:
