Job Summary

The Manager of Benefits and Compensation oversees the administration and management of employee compensation programs, benefits packages, and total rewards strategy. This Manager ensures competitive compensation structures and the effective delivery of employee benefits. The position is key in attracting, retaining, and motivating employees by providing strategic leadership on compensation policies and employee benefits.

Duties

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Administers the university's leave programs, including, but not limited to, FMLA and Sick Leave Pool.
  • Develop communication strategies and materials to educate employees about compensation, benefits, and total rewards options.
  • Reviews, evaluates and makes recommendations for improvements to employee benefits offerings
  • Assesses and conducts job evaluations to determine FLSA classification and market analysis; works with hiring managers to provide appropriate guidance regarding pay decisions, policies, and job evaluation; reviews and approves all staff job offers and job requisitions; creates and/or updates job descriptions.
  • Develops compensation strategies that align with organizational goals and promote employee retention and satisfaction
  • Leads all benefits and compensation reporting.
  • Leads manages, and trains staff; implements team-building strategies; and organizes ongoing professional development opportunities. Manages and coordinates the daily operations.
  • Leads the event programming and the annual benefits fair

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of related job experience in compensation, benefits, or human resources management

License/Certification

  • None Required

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience with PeopleSoft
  • Experience with Pay Factors

  • Knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices and legal regulations in compensation and benefits administration
  • Proficiency in HR software and systems
