Job Summary

The Coordinator, Purchasing I, coordinate purchases for the university, providing advice and guidance to all necessary departments and ensuring that all relevant policies, procedures, statutes, and laws are adhered to.

Duties

  • Reviews requisitions and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness and processes change orders
  • Solicits informal bids, analyzes and tabulates bids and awards best value, and assists with soliciting formal bids, analyzing and tabulating bids, and awarding best value
  • Addresses purchase order discrepancies/disputes, checks the status of orders, resolves order problems, reviews/processes receiving reports, and expedites receiving reports
  • Supports departments with finding HUB vendors and assists with coordinating HUB events. Assists vendors with inquiries and questions
  • Conduct procurement card reviews and audits, ensuring that proper documentation is included and that all protocols, policies, and statutes have been followed. Takes notes on non-compliant purchases.
  • Assists with compiling and reviewing reports, including, but not limited to, HUB reports, LBB reports, CIP/CIR, and contract reports. Interprets, reviews, and updates departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
