The Assistant Director, Parking & Transportation Services manages the daily operations of the university's parking system through the administration of the campus parking management software. The incumbent is responsible for parking permits, citations, appeals, pay stations, and meters, oversees shuttle bus services, and coordinates fleet operations.
- Coordinates, implements, administers, and evaluates the parking operation, parking management system, and parking enforcement.
- Manages the parking management system, including monitoring daily parking utilizations and space counts to ensure available parking spaces, reviewing customer accounts, and processing citation payments and citation appeals.
- Reconciles parking revenue and maintains the departmental budget, allocating funds for projects, equipment repairs, maintenance costs, and the cost of hiring and training staff.
- Ensures that there is an effective parking operation for the university community, and that a high standard of customer service is offered; participates in the planning and research of future programs and improvements relating to parking.
- Determines the appropriate parking fee structures annually.
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to fulfill parking and transportation needs and requests.
- Coordinates the university's fleet management operations by ensuring that the required data is posted into the State of Texas fleet database on a monthly basis; schedules maintenance on vehicles; completes applications for vehicle title and obtains annual registration and inspection; prepares vehicle accident reports; prepares vehicles for deletion from inventory or auction.
- Coordinates the shuttle bus service, ensuring contract compliance, analyzing ridership and customer satisfaction, and conducting quarterly meetings with the shuttle bus vendor supervisor to address any concerns or changes in bus routes.
- Reviews and revises the shuttle bus transportation schedules to ensure increased efficiency and to reduce costs.
- Collaborates with other departments as needed.

- Knowledge of the trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to university parking, fleet management, and shuttle services.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in administering, maintaining, and monitoring departmental software and hardware

Work Location and Physical Demands
Primary Work Location:
- Works in an office environment.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment Individual is physically comfortable and has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc., and has occasional exposure to physical risks. Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, oils, unpleasant odors, traffic, and traffic noises. May, on rare occasions, work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to a risk of electric shock. ' Work involves occasional exposure to parking lots and garages. Must have precise hand-eye coordination and the ability to identify and distinguish colors. Must be able to move up to 15lbs.
